God will not look you over for medals, degrees or diplomas, but for scars. ~ Elbert Hubbard

I've learned that winning isn't everything, and it's more about the journey. But at the end of the day, I just want to stand on the podium with the gold medal. ~ Hope Solo

Holy moly!

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit. I just walked out to the mailbox to find a thick package from Cellarmasters of Los Angeles full of more bottle bling than a gangsta pawn shop. Seems Tiny Vineyards did pretty well in the 48th Annual U.S. Amateur Winemaking Competition.

Gold Medal, Best of Class — 2019 Red Blend: Cab Sauv, Zin, Syrah

Silver Medal — 2020 Red Blend: Cab Sauv, Zin, Syrah, Malbec

Silver Medal — 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

Silver Medal — 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon

Silver Medal — 2020 Pinot Noir

Silver Medal — Rhone Blend: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre

What can I say?! I try really hard to make my wine to the highest possible standard, sourcing the best grapes possible and employing whatever expertise (or sheer luck!) I can manifest at the time. I’m hesitant to elaborate any further because the last time I won a few medals I caught a passel of grief from several members of my wine club for writing or saying anything at all. Hmmm… sour grapes? Nah, probably just good-natured ribbing. But sheesh!
