Toast to America!
Raise a glass of our heritage wine to 250 years of democracy.
America isn't perfect, but it is exceptional. Built on sacrifice, forged through struggle, and sustained by generations who believed in freedom, opportunity, and something greater than themselves. ~ America 250
July 4th isn’t about politics, it’s about principles
The world feels precarious right now—on that we can surely all agree— and the idea of celebrating our government seems a bit paradoxical. But this summer there may not be anything as singularly important to commemorate, to reaffirm, renew, and re-engage in than the 250th birthday of America and our long, fractured pursuit of liberty. It has been both a litany of failure and a wonderment of success that deserves our acknowledgment and demands our restored stewardship.
But I am not here to discuss politics. I’m here to consider how far we’ve come as a country, and to hawk wine. So, if this starts to feel like a shameless wine advertisement, I suppose it is. But only because I want us to get it right this 4th of July. Wine has a rich history of commemorating life, and if you’re going to make a toast to America then do it with a wine that counts.
And by God, man! …and ma’am, take advantage of the fact that the wine I think you should drink (pictured above) on this momentous occasion has been reduced from $40 to $26.50 a bottle only until midnight on Sunday at tinyvineyards.com. Plus, I’ll pay for the shipping if you buy a case.
Here’s what I wrote about this wine six months ago when we first released it:
2024 Liberty Zinfandel - If America’s cities are its heart, the county’s rural areas are its soul. Drive the backroads of America and you’ll surely encounter patriotic scenes similar to our front label—iconic American flags proudly painted on the weathered but still sound timbers of an ancient barn, often faded and cracked with the passage of time and profoundly emblematic of the current state of our country. After 250 years as a grand experiment in democracy, today’s America is a vastly larger, more diverse nation grappling with its complex history, political polarization, and tempestuous efforts to balance ideals with realities—a nation in flux to be sure, yet assuredly still worthy of celebration. Commemorating America’s Semiquincentennial requires the most American of wines, and by all measures—native origins, unique history, and distinct style—Zinfandel is truly America’s heritage grape. This is particularly so in Sonoma County, CA where old-vine Zinfandel is treasured as a bold, rich, fruit-forward red wine known for its jammy dark berry flavors mixed with spicy notes of black pepper. What wine will you be toasting with on July 4th, 2026?
Now, six months later, we’ve already sold more than half of the 90 cases we made of 2024 Liberty Zinfandel and the wine has only gotten better as it aged in the bottle. July 4th is just one month away. If you haven’t already, it’s time to grab your share for toasting at all the picnics, dinners, and fireworks celebrations.
Happy birthday America. Cheers to liberty and resilience!
